Culture shock

Let me know what you think about this story.

I was sitting in a restaurant with my family eating pepperoncino spaghetti. A young couple was just leaving, and the girl fell over very heavily onto the ground. BUT her boyfriend didn`t help her up or ask her if she was OK. He just said "I don`t believe it," and carried on walking.

So my question is:
Are all Japanese boys so cold to their girlfriends?
